Bentley recall over pedestrian danger

In a very unusual move, Bentley Motors has recalled about 600 of its ultra-luxury cars in the U.S. because of a potential pedestrian problem.  It seems that the “Flying B” symbolic ornament on a Bentley’s bonnet could impale a pedestrian if it does not retract on impact like it’s supposed to.

British drivers can not see crossing red lights coming

A survey of around 1,000 motorists found that 52% cannot see that a red stop light is coming if signals are placed at junctions with pedestrian crossings that are amber.  In fact, 39% guessed that a green light would come after the amber.
